Left Foot Charley Murmur,

Old Mission Peninsula 2007
Wine of the week, March 21, 2009

Expectations: Owner and Winemaker, Brian Ulrich, of Left Foot Charley has a wonderful touch with his wines. Murmur is a fruity white wine blend that is driven by green apple, lemon, and stone fruit, like peach and melon. There is a honey note under the fruit making the wine softer and very friendly. The inclusion of Riesling and Traminette give the wine a delicate white flower note like lilac, which is very enticing.

This is a great example of how blending accentuates the character of the grapes included. Murmur features Pinot Grigio, which is our varietal of the week.

The Riesling (15%) comes from the Longcore vineyard, the Grigio (80%) comes from the Ligon Vineyard, and the Traminette (5%) comes from the Seventh Hill Vineyard.
