Chateau Fontaine White Riesling
Leelanau Peninsula 2007
Wine of the week, April 18, 2009
What to expect:
First of all, the wine is surprisingly dry! Lime zest and just barely ripe apricot lead the charge of flavor, with skin-on green apple following. It's delicate in weight, but it has a forceful flavor profile. Very clean, very direct, and just begging for your steamed mussels or white fish pate.
This is the best wine I have tasted from this dependable producer. Well done, Dan!
